Students from China Offered Counseling and Support
On behalf of the campus community of California State University, East Bay, I extend condolences to you and all the citizens of the People's Republic of China for the devastating loss of life following the tragic earthquake in Sichuan province.

The Cal State East Bay community is reaching out to the more than 300 citizens of China who  attend classes at the University. I assure you that your have our support and that of  administrators, faculty, and fellow students during this time. We know that for some of you, being a long way from home and not knowing the situation of family and loved ones is particularly stressful. We are ready to assist as best we can.

Beginning tonight (Monday, May 12) and continuing tomorrow (Tuesday, May 13), the University's Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) department will have a counselor available at  International House.

CaPS also provides individual appointments and urgent walk-in care every weekday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Regular appointments can be made by calling (510) 885-3690. More information can be found at http://wwwsa.csueastbay.edu/counseling.

The University's Center for International Education and the American Language Program are also ready to assist you and provide referrals and other assistance as necessary. Call the Center for International Education at (510) 885-4038 or the American Language Program at (510) 885-7512.
